Gov Fubara Opens Youth Resource Center in Rivers State
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has inaugurated the Rivers State Youth Resource Centre (RIVSYREC), marking a significant step in the state’s commitment to empowering its youth and providing them with resources to realize their potential. The inauguration took place on May 28, 2024, and was flagged off by the state’s Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu, who advised the youths to take advantage of the center to become self-sufficient. This initiative aligns with Governor Fubara’s vision to invest in human capital development, a key focus area in his administration’s first year.
The RIVSYREC is expected to offer a range of services and resources tailored to support the aspirations of Rivers State’s youth. It comes as part of a series of projects and initiatives launched by Governor Fubara to mark his first year in office. The center is positioned as a vital tool for empowering the youth and enhancing their participation in the state’s development.
In a related development, Governor Fubara has also announced plans to build a secretariat for the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in Port Harcourt. This move is seen as a significant step in fostering unity and development among the youth of the Ijaw community, one of the largest ethnic groups in the state.
These initiatives reflect Governor Fubara’s commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development, aligning with his administration’s broader goal of fostering sustainable development and prosperity in Rivers State.
