NFF to appoint a foreign coach for Super Eagles

Super Eagles Ranked 28 in the World and 3rd in Africa

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has decided to appoint a foreign coach for the Super Eagles, the country’s national football team, in response to the team’s recent underwhelming performance. This decision was made during a recent executive committee meeting, where it was acknowledged that the team’s performance in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers has been subpar.

The NFF expressed regret over the team’s “dismal output and very poor returns” in the qualifiers, where they have managed to secure only three points from the first four matches. This has led to their current position at the bottom of their group, making the prospect of qualifying for the World Cup a challenging task.

In a bid to revitalize the team and improve their performance, the NFF has resolved to employ an expatriate Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles. This foreign coach will work alongside the current head coach, Finidi George, to prepare the team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the remaining World Cup qualifying matches.

The NFF’s decision to seek foreign expertise underscores their commitment to restoring the team’s competitive edge and ensuring Nigeria’s participation in future international tournaments. As the search for a new coach begins, the nation waits with anticipation to see who will take the helm and lead the Super Eagles into a new era of success.
