Onyeka Onwenu Laid to Rest in Lagos

Onyeka Onwenu, fondly known as the “Elegant Stallion,” was laid to rest today, August 30, 2024, in Lagos. The music icon, who passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72 after collapsing at an event, was remembered in a service held at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju. Following the service, her burial took place at the Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi.

Onwenu’s death and subsequent funeral have been widely discussed and mourned across various platforms, reflecting her significant impact on Nigerian music and culture.
