Breaking News: Eguavoen Quits as Super Eagles Coach.
Augustine Eguavoen has resigned from his position as the interim coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles following a 0-0 draw against Rwanda in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. His departure was announced after the match in Kigali, where he stated that his mandate was specifically for two games, which concluded with the Rwanda match. Eguavoen was appointed on a temporary basis after negotiations with German coach Bruno Labbadia fell through. His tenure included overseeing the team in two key qualifiers, against Benin Republic and Rwanda, as part of the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) ongoing search for a permanent head coach for the national team.
