FEDERAL INLAND REVENUE SERVICE (FIRS) VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: DEPUTY MANAGER
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Deputy Manager.
JOB SUMMARY
The Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in the day-to-day management of the department, providing leadership and guidance to staff, and ensuring the effective implementation of tax policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the department
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring that they are motivated and equipped to perform their duties effectively
- Coordinate the implementation of tax policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Analyze data and provide recommendations to the Manager on tax policy and administration
- Represent the department at meetings and conferences, as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional certification in taxation (e.g., CITN, ICAN)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax administration and management
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
- The appointment will be on a permanent and pensionable basis
- The successful candidate will be entitled to a competitive salary and benefits package
- The candidate will be required to work in any part of the country
