INEC Says It Has Received a Letter From PDP Of The Postponement of South South Zonal Convention

INEC Chairman Yakubu Says Commission Ready to Handle Local Government Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the postponement of its scheduled South-South Zonal Congress, citing operational constraints and unforeseen circumstances as reasons for the delay. This decision was acknowledged by INEC on February 25, 2025.

It’s worth noting that the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) had previously dismissed the conduct of the party’s South-South zonal congress, labeling it as illegal.² The party has promised to communicate a new date for the congress through its official channels in due course.
