Northern Leaders Pledged Support for Atiku
The Northern leaders had on Thursday, November 4, visited the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. According to a statement by the former vice-president’s spokesman, the northern leaders pledged their support for Atiku by exchanging pleasantries and seeking his well-being. He said that the northern leaders also assured Atiku of their continued prayers for him.
As a part of his consultation with northern leaders, Atiku. He met with a number of them on Thursday, November 4 and pledged to support them for the 2023 elections.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Special Duties); it said that the group discussed issues affecting Nigeria’s Northern Region especially security challenges facing the landlocked region which includes Borno state where terrorists have been killing people indiscriminately since May 11th 2019 when they fled Bauchi state capital city of Bauchi after they were defeated by troops from Borno State Commanders Battle Group (CGBG).
According to a statement by the spokeman, the northern leaders pledged their support for Atiku by exchanging pleasantries and seeking his well-being.
In a statement released the spokeman said that he had traveled to Abuja with some senior members of PDP who were there for consultations. He added that they met with Atiku in Abuja as well as other prominent Nigerians including former president Olusegun Obasanjo and former military governor of Sokoto State Ibrahim Idris Dalgado.
He said that the northern leaders also assured Atiku of their continued prayers for him.

He also noted that people have not lost hope on their leaders and will continue to work together towards achieving peace, unity and economic prosperity for all Nigerians by working hard towards building a prosperous nation.
He directed questions about how issues affecting Nigerians could be resolved through consultation among political parties instead of imposing solutions by government because it would be more appropriate for all stakeholders to come together to discuss issues rather than impose solutions from above.”
This is a gesture that shows the commitment and unity of the northern leaders. It also demonstrates Atiku’s strong support for the north, as well as his desire to ensure peace and stability in the country
