You have brought shame to Nigerian Democracy- Atiku Abubakar Mocks Wike
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has made mockery of the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Ezenwo Wike, following the nomination and screening of the former Governor as a minister under Tinubu’s cabinet.
Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku, stated this in Abuja, while asking Wike to reject the ministerial nomination, like he had earlier told Nigerians.
Recall that Wike had earlier told Nigerians in 2023 Presidential Campaign and Governorship Campaign that APC is a cancer party and he wouldn’t be called a second choice.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, Atiku’s spokesman, Shaibu said that while Wike was eager “to satisfy his personal interest”, he did not wait for Tinubu to be sworn in as the President, he flew to Abuja to Congratulate him, and he also did same thing to Godswill in other to plot for his ministerial position.
Recall that Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was part of the first set of ministerial nominees Tinubu forwarded to the Senate last Thursday.
According to Shaibu, Wike’s speech was clear evidence that the former Governor was only playing cheap politics.
He said that “Wike’s incompetence has been confirmed by Nigerians. One wonders how he was elevated to the rank of minister. Despite several clarifications that the allegations levelled against Atiku were trumped up, Wike refused to listen to reason.”
Shaibu further stated that “Rather than act like a refined Chieftain as expected of a senior stakeholder, he decided to act like a political jobber. Now, he has been disgraced before the entire world. This was a man who served under the legendary Jonathan as a Minister? What a shame.”
He noted that Wike’s latest ministerial appointment was not surprising “given the fact that he had bribed many high profile cases in court while he was a Governor.”
Shaibu added that “When the jobless former Governor was filing the frivolous case, we informed Nigerians that we stood by Atiku. The prediction was in line with his antecedent as a failed Presidential race. Today, we have been justified.
“Wike made a name for himself by constantly filing frivolous suits in order to entertain the media. He needs to bow down and reject the ministerial position and throw his appointment into the dustbin so he can face his job as a social media influencer.”
