The Qatar 2022 World Cup will be the first tournament to take place in December and the first to include extra time and penalties. The tournament will start on Monday, November 21, 2022, with games taking place at 12pm local time (9am GMT). This is a slight change from previous years where many matches would start at 9am local time.

The Qatar World Cup was initially scheduled to take place outside of the summer months. The tournament is now set to start on Monday, November 21, 2022. This is to avoid players playing in extreme temperatures in June and July.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup will be the first time that a country has hosted four sports at once: football (soccer), handball and volleyball are played by men; basketball and table tennis are played by women; while rugby union will be introduced for the first time since 1924 as an experimental event for men only.

The final will be played on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

The final will be played on Sunday, December 18, 2022. The match will take place at the Lusail Stadium in Doha and will be preceded by a parade of nations around the stadium’s perimeter.

The World Cup final has traditionally been played on a Sunday since the first tournament in 1930 (although it was delayed by rain in 1934).

  • Group C : Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland
